Eligibility Criteria

For the UNICEF USA National Youth Council Volunteer Position Program, candidates are required to meet the following criteria:

All applicants must be between the ages of 14-24 and reside in the US throughout the program. (Students studying abroad during the term are not eligible)
Interest in community organizing, advocacy, and youth-led action
Interest in developing skills in public speaking, advocating, and organizing
Can commit to the required time and expectations of the Council
Demonstrated dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Members must have reliable internet access and a device for virtual meetings.

Key Responsibilities

Elevate Youth Voice: Represent UNICEF USA and elevate youth perspectives by speaking at local and national events. Create social media content for UUSA channels.
Support Youth & Volunteer Programs: Provide feedback on engaging young people in social justice work, inform strategic initiatives and campaigns.
Educate and Motivate: Lead projects to educate youth, volunteers, and staff on important topics.
Build Community: Develop relationships with peers, manage the Slack community, and engage in digital conversations with students.
