187 graduands bag first class in FUT, Minna
High Number of First-Class Graduates at Federal University of Technology Minna’s 2020/2021 and 2022/2023 Combined Convocation
A recent press briefing by Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA), revealed that 187 out of 7,312 students participating in the forthcoming combined convocation of 2020/2021 and 2022/2023 academic sessions achieved first-class honors.
Impressive Graduation Statistics
Prof. Kuta disclosed that for the 2020/2021 session, 71 students graduated with first class honors, while the number rose to 116 for the 2022/2023 session. Additionally, a total of 7,312 graduands will receive first degrees, along with 120 Postgraduate Diplomas, 955 Master’s Degrees, and 150 Doctorate Degrees (PhD).
Breakdown of Graduating Classes
The Vice-Chancellor provided a comprehensive breakdown of the graduating classes, stating that 2,190 students achieved second class upper division, 3,410 attained second class lower division, while 1,483 and 44 students received third class and Pass degrees, respectively.
Furthermore, he highlighted that 1,091 graduands received second class upper, 1,916 obtained second class lower division, 767 secured third class, and 22 attained Pass degrees for the 2020/2021 session. Similarly, for the 2022/2023 session, 1,099 graduated with second class upper division, 1,494 acquired second class lower division, 716 attained third class, and 20 received Pass degrees.
