Fukuoka City Foundation International Student Scholarships Types
There are three types of scholarships offered, namely “Yokatopia Scholarship for International Students,” “Future Development Scholarship for International Students,” and “Fukuoka City International Foundation Scholarship.”
- Yokatopia Scholarship for International Students (includes work experience opportunity): This scholarship is for international students looking to work in Fukuoka and includes a work experience opportunity at a local company.
- Future Development Scholarship for International Students: This scholarship is provided by businesses, organizations, and individuals and gives the scholarship providers the chance to meet the students in person.
- Fukuoka City International Foundation Scholarship: Graduate students can receive the scholarship for 2 years, while undergraduate students can receive it for 4 years.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Fukuoka City Foundation International Student Scholarships, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Applicants for Yokatopia Scholarship for International Students: Postgraduate or undergraduate students in their second year or above, enrolled at a university in the Fukuoka Metropolitan Area, and not exceeding the MEXT Scholarship amount.
- Applicants for Future Development Scholarship for International Students: Students enrolled at a university in Fukuoka Metropolitan Area, also not exceeding the MEXT Scholarship amount.
- Applicants for Fukuoka City International Foundation Scholarship: Students enrolled in specific universities, and the total scholarship amount must not exceed the MEXT Scholarship amount. Japanese language proficiency at N3 level or equivalent is required.
