About the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPI)

The IDPI Scholarship and Bursary 2023 is sponsored by the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPI) – a community-driven organization that aims to promote peace and unity in the Ikorodu division of Lagos State, Nigeria. The organization has been instrumental in bringing together various stakeholders in the community to foster understanding, dialogue, and cooperation toward a common goal of peace and development.

In line with its mission, the IDPI has announced the launch of the IDPI Scholarship and Bursary 2023, a program designed to support and empower students from the Ikorodu division to pursue their academic aspirations. The scholarship is open to students who are residents and indigenes and have demonstrated outstanding academic excellence.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Scholarship & Bursary 2023;

  • You must be an indigene and/or a resident of the Ikorodu division, Lagos State
  • You must be studying a full-time course in a recognized public tertiary institution in Nigeria.
  • You must be in the 200 level upward and have a verifiable Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.5 on a 5.0 scale or lower credit to be eligible for at least one of the bursaries. (Check the detail requirement below under Categories).
  • Proof of indigen-ship: indigenes must present a letter of identification from a recognized Oba and Local Government Area (LGA)/Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
  • Residents must submit the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) card as proof of residency.
  • You will also be required to attach a copy of your academic profile duly signed by your University Registrar or Head of Department (HOD).

NOTE: Please be informed that you can NOT apply for both at the same time because they are separate applications. If you do, you will be disqualified

Categories and Benefits of the IDPI Scholarship and Bursary 2023

The IDPI Scholarship and Bursary are in 3 categories:

  • The Scholarship
  • Bursary 1 and
  • Bursary 2

The Scholarship Scheme:

  • The Scholarship is worth N200,000 annually. Shortlisted applicants will be entitled to yearly throughout their course years till graduation.
  • This scholarship scheme is open to both indigenes and residents.
  • The scholarship scheme is based on excellent academic performance.
  • Applicants must have nothing less than a CGPA of 4.5 on a 5.0 scale or First Class for Universities and a Distinction for Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education.
  • Aptitude test and oral interview shall be conducted for scholarship applicants to confirm their suitability.
  • Also note that your documents will be verified for authenticity.

Bursary 1:

  • The Bursary 1 is worth N100,000. It is a one-off bursary, hence you will be paid only once.
  • Bursary 1 is open to both indigenes and residents.
  • Bursary 1 is based on excellent academic performance.
  • Applicants must have nothing less than a CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale or Second Class Upper Division.
  • Also note that your documents will be verified for authenticity.

Bursary 2:

  • The Bursary 2 is worth N50,000. It is a one-off bursary, hence you will be paid only once.
  • Bursary 2 is open to ONLY indigenes who are struggling financially.
  • Applicants must have nothing less than a CGPA of 2.5 on a 5.0 scale or Lower Credit.
  • Also note that your documents will be verified for authenticity.

The scholarship and bursary program will support successful candidates financially, covering tuition fees, textbooks, and other necessary expenses.

How to Apply for the IDPI Scholarship and Bursary 2023

  • Upload all required documents.

NB: Candidates will be invited for an aptitude test and oral interview, where they will be assessed based on their academic performance, leadership potential, and community service record.

  • Please note that applications for both scholarship and bursary require NO PAYMENT at all from applicants. They are completely FREE.
  • The Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative (IDPI) has no agents or representatives for Scholarship and Bursary processing. Beware of scammers.
