World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program for Young African Graduates (Fully-funded)

The World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program is currently accepting applications from motivated young African graduates who are completing or have recently completed their Ph.D. The program aims to attract talented African nationals interested in a career in development, international institutions, African governments, think tanks, and academia.

Program Details

The World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Program offers selected fellows a six-month assignment at WBG offices in Washington D.C. or in country offices to gain hands-on experience in WBG operations. Fellows will work on research, economic policy, technical assistance, and lending operations to contribute to the World Bank’s goal of eliminating poverty and increasing shared prosperity.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the fellowship program, applicants must be recent Ph.D. graduates (within three years of completion) or enrolled in the last year of the Ph.D. program. They should have an excellent command of English, strong quantitative and analytical skills, and be under the age of 32 by the closing of the application period.

Fellowship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive consultant fees and round-trip economy class air travel to Washington, D.C. or a WBG country office from their university or institution.
