STEM Bridge Scholarship for Girls

The STEM Bridge Scholarship for Girls aims to support high-achieving girls and recognize their ability to excel in STEM areas, particularly striving to assist such girls who would not be provided with premium or quality education opportunities due to one challenge or the other.

This scholarship program focuses on girls who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, show strong academic performance, and demonstrate a passion for STEM (STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this scholarship, you must:

  • be a Female
  • be a current Junior Secondary School (JSS3/Grade 9) student and will be planning to enroll in Senior High School(SSS1/Grade 10) in the upcoming school year
  • demonstrate financial need
  • have a cumulative grade of 80% or equivalent on another scale
  • be interested in STEM (i.e. you are willing to remain a science student).

Scholarship Benefits

» The recipient will be awarded $3,500 over the course of 3 years, to assist with tuition.

  • $1250 for the first year,
  • $1000 for the second year and
  • $1250 for the third year

» The recipient will be given a book award of $100, for uniforms, books and school materials

» The recipient will be provided with a brand new laptop

» The recipient will gain access to career support and mentorship from STEM Bridge

PLEASE NOTE: This award is contingent on the student remaining a “science student” as defined by the school.
 

Application Requirements

The following will be required during application to be considered for the STEM Bridge Scholarship for Girls:

  • An OPTIONAL letter of recommendation
  • Your
  • A 1-minute video response. (

PLEASE NOTE: Short-listed applicants will be required to undergo an interview with their parents

Selection Criteria

  • Applications will be reviewed by independent reviewers who will be a part of a scholarship selection committee.
  • Scholarship recipient will be selected based on financial need and academic merit.

Application Deadline

The application closes March 19th, 2023. Winners will be announced mid-July.
